I've never heard that about the Ability (I'm on it too) but glad you got some answers!

Apparently it's one of the less common side effects.  But you know me, I like to be different!

Oh I forgot to add my tried and true method for drying up lactation...I have had some good experience with leaking tits and I never breast fed any of my 10 kids......With my first child in 1992 after childbirth they use to give you these lil pills by prescription that would stop lactation and then my OB/GYN stopped and said it had a risk of causing cancer

so a postpartum nurse recommended this trick and it has always worked...  Buy about 2-3 large heads of cabbage.  Rinse and dry the leaves that conform to your breast and put them directly on your breast under your bra very cold.  Wear the leaves until they wilt up, it will not cause a odor and in about several days to a week you will be all dried up.  This tick has never failed me...Hope you try it and it works.

Now for the period..If you are done with having kids or whatever I had the ESSURE permanent BC method done after my last baby in 07....It can be performed in dr. office but mine was done in hospital due to co-morbidities and safety issues....They put these lil coils in your tubes through your vagina and into your fallopian tubes...They look like the lil springs inside a ballpoint pen.  After 3 months tissue will grow around the coils causing permanent blockage of sperm and fertilization.  You then go back to the doctor for a x-ray after 3 months to see if your tubes are completely blocked....It has worked great for me cause I am DAMN DONE!

 Sage
The common kitchen herb, Sage, when used as a tea, is a powerful agent for drying milk.
  Instructions for use:
You can purchase sage tea at a health food store or make your own from powdered sage purchased at any grocery store:   Use 1/8 or 1/2 teaspoon of powdered Sage in 1 cup of ho****er.
Sage has a very strong flavor.  You may want to sweeten the tea to hide the taste (or add something like Tang flavored drink mix).
Drink one of these teas every 4 or 6 hours.  Usually 3 or 4 cups is enough to dry milk completely.  Don't use this method if you are allergic to Sage.

I looked up medications to dry up milk and they aren't used anymore but I did find the above.  It might be worth a shot if the Abilify is really working.  Side effects suck.

Thank GOD!!!  I am so happy you got in there - and even happier that it doesnt seem to be anything "bad" - Hopefully she "addressed" her receptionist as soon as you left.. or at the very least at the end of the day when all patients were gone!

She sounds great - we have crap for PCP around here. Hell I drive over an hour for my "girlie" dr cause the ones around here are that bad!  You have a choice.. quacks or God complexes.. and I cant stand either, but will take a quack over God wannabe anyday!  (at least with a quack I can do the damn research myself and go in and tell him what tests I need etc and get it sorted by "helping" him.. a God wannabe just thinks they know it all and doesnt listen to you at all.. cause you certainly have no dang clue WHERE you HURT right!?!?! lol

Well congrats on getting that all sorted.

Many prayers to you and yours

I drive three hours for my back specialist, and drove that far for my bariatric surgeon, too.  And my GI doc.  But I have been able to find a good PCP and a pretty good psychiatrist locally, plus a good therapist.  I live in a small town so I didn't have a whole lot of choice.  But I don't want to drive real far for docs I may need to see often or may need to see when I'm feeling really ill and don't want to be in the car for a few hours first.

Good News Kelly.  And I hope the receptionist is a different person next time you go in to see your PCP
