I lost 3 lbs!!!!

Why is this exciting at all?

Well, I am nearly 4 years post-op so the weight is NOT inclined to move except when I get very, very sick and just don't eat that much.

Plus, I've had the bounce. It was quite large in my opinion.

BUT I try not to let that slow me down. I like working out so I do. Even when, for weeks, the scale would not budge, I still found things Iike to do. I figured out I like three kinds of workouts: dancing, weight lifting and boxing. At this point I stick to what I like as I can commit to doing what I like ;)

The three pound discover was quite accidental. I hit the gym to do some free weights and I kept passing the damn scale. I'd been avoiding it, sure I was up. Scale avoidance, in general, is about as bad as scale obsession, but even I am prone to both at times. Today, I decided to get on the scale and do my best to just accept what is said. So I get on and set it to the weight I've been for about a year...

And the damn balance sank to the bottom. I was like "whaaaaaaat?"

So I moved it back a pound, expecting it to level. Nope. Another pound. Nope. Another pound? It took a minute but finally leveled out. I was quite tickled.

At this point my goals are more about my figure than my weight. After I get this house debacle straightened out I will start saving in earnest for plastics. The fact that I haven't HAD plastics yet is sort of a motivator to keep weight off. Crazy as it sounds, I keep thinking "I can't regain my weight before I get plastics!" (eye roll)

Anyway, I was very tickled by this experience and so of course I wanted to share it with all of you.

wow i am excited for you and happy for you. Just proves we can keep on going even in the maintenance phase if we want.

Its funny because i read someone else on this board today say something about walking by the "damn scale" at the gym too and finally weighed herself. lol

Anyways proud of you

The scale is an interesting thing. I didn't own one for years. I bought a really good one when I started on this whole thing.
For me it's been weird  to be at the same weight for a long time. Somewhere in my head I think it's gonna read 378 when I step on it.
I'm glad you had a good gym surprise.

Congrats, Nik!  I know if mine moves now (in the right direction, that is), I almost faint with joy!   I weighed in at the flight doc yesterday (on the base) and I'd lost 8 lbs (first time the scale has moved since I don't know when).  I had lost that weight in 4.5 weeks so it has to be the medication change because nothing else has LOL.

It did!!! But more so than the weight loss, I like feeling proactive about my process. I don't like sitting back and doing nothing and "hoping" the scale doesn't go up. I like the fact that I have some control over it and exercising that control (pun intended) makes me feel good.

So while the loss was a nice surprise, it's just good to be back in the gym consistently. :)
