when you play with your food

Nik is always telling us to play with our food and I agree with her.  But thought I would mention, when  you get the idea for a new protein drink that you think will be yummy, but you've never tried before, make a small version of it to test it out.  You will be unhappy if you end up pouring out 16 ounces of soy milk (that's half a carton!) and a scoop and a half of your favorite protein powder and one of your last few packets of Upcal D (because you're still waiting on the new box to arrive).

Uh-oh.  Were you able to choke it down or was it a waste?

Total waste.  It was supposed to be a hot protein drink and I cannot drink those with lumpy, pasty stuff in them.

For some reason my protein coffee has been lumpy the last few days.  Probably too hot coffee.  Anyway, instead of throwing it out I used a strainer and strained out the lumps and it tasted fine.

I never even thought of trying to strain it.

I've had to toss a shake I made with a vegan sourced protien powder, it just tasted too disgusting to stand more than a couple of sips.
I'm hoping it was just that I was a week out of surgery, and I'll be able to stomach it later on as I bought it a couple of weeks pre-op, and have long lost the receipt.

When I read the subject line, I thought hey, I'm not the only one who plays with her food while trying to eat slowly!  Leaning tower of mashed potatoes anyone?
