RNY on 09/19/11 with

I had revision from lapband to RNY on 9/19 and am doing great. I'm down 38 lbs since surgery which is more than I lost the 1st year of lapband. My NSV is that I can wear  mans XL t-shirt! I know that doesn't sound like a big deal but it is to me. I haven't worn an XL in at least 20 years.
I'm not sure why I loose weight from the top down but I see others do as well. As someone who's never been overly endowed up top I have mixed feelings about being down 2 inch sizes and one cup size in my bra's. LOL
As the Tennessee poster said I also have knee problems, mine actually happened a week
before surgery. I've had a hard time walking but I go to the gym and just do machines that
involve, arms, abs and chest. I'd like to do some cardio but until I get the knee straightened
out I don't see that happeneing.
As a vegetarian the majority of my protein is dairy based, and the occasional soy product.
I haven't had problems with any food, just things tasting too sweet, or just not apealing.
I have what I'll call partial dumping issues, i got the sweats and diarhea, but not the chest pains
once was from mash potato's (homemade with too much butter I think) and the other a Special
K protien shake (too much sugar I think).
As a side bar I wonder if people who have constipation issues also get diarhea when they dump?

Hi Marianne! As you know, we had our surgeries on the same day. I'm doing pretty well. Weight is coming off. Food is tolerated. Still struggle with chicken and getting stuck, but I keep trying to eat it cuz I love it. Also still have a transient mystery pain/ache since surgery, that I am gonna call the surgeon about with the next occurance. Just a nagging dull ache that I get under my ribs, chest and back, with no rhyme or reason to it. Been happening on average, a couple times a day, 3-5 times a week. Mostly left sided. Wondering if it's gas, or ulcer pain.

Other then that, I feel really good & I'm excited for the holidays (for once), lol. Thanks for the thread.

Best to all!

Liz

I had RNY on 9/26/11.  I had surgery at 379.6, left the hospital at 380.2, and as of today I am at 334.5.  I had a rough first 5 weeks, in and out of the hospital with dehydration and digestion issues, but the last 3 weeks have been great, I'm swimming for an hour 6 days a week, and able to do things around the house again.
