Vitamin B12 Quiz

Until recently, I always had my partner do mine.  Then a few weeks ago he wasn't here so I decided to try it myself.  And it wasn't that hard.  The trick is to not think about it and do it fast.  It doesn't hurt at all.

I really wish I could take a couple shots for all my vitamins.  It's so easy and convenient.

For some reason, my original post keeps cutting off this portion:

What is a good B12 level do look for when we have labs done?

A pill you swallow?  You can't absorb the B12 that way.

I  know you've had a hard time finding a surgeon for follow up care.  But aren't there any dieticians where you live?

it wont be absorbed even if it was mixed with another ingredients in this case other vitamins in the same pill?
if not can you tell me how much sublingual b12 should i take and how many times please

i didnt look for ditetions , i only looked for surgeons , i should start looking for one :S

should they be already working with bariatric surgeons or any ditetion will be fine

No, it won't be absorbed because you do not have something called intrinsic factor in your pouch.  Without it, you can't absorb B12 from inside your stomach.

The ASMBS recommends 350-500 mcg sublingual daily.  Unless your labs indicate you need more.

I don't think you need a dietician that works with a bariatric surgeon, you just need one that is familiar with RNY and the ASMBS guidelines.
