If I drink a powerade... Do I count that as a snack? Bc it has calories? Or part of my liquid/ water intake?

I am tracking everything on OH !!! Thanks in advance!

Both, it is no different that a protein shake in that it also has calories but counts toward your liquid intake.

Oh, I never thought of that!! I wasn't counting my Protien Shakes as my liquid either... Hmmmm. Trying to think of the best way to do this.... I am seeing that if I only include it as my food intake that my calorie and carbs go through the roof almost! Not really but it's higher than I would like it to be! I am really having a rough time getting it to be significantly lower than my protien.
So I will start counting it as my liquids too!

Not counting it as food intake and not considering the calories and carbs as a part of your total doesn't make your body ignore the fact that its packed full of sugar.  Have you tried Powerade Zero?  I think it tastes pretty good and there's no sugar/calories.

this is the beauty of tracking now and then... you open your eyes to exactly how everything is adding up when maybe you didn't realize it.

If it has calories, it has to count towards your daily calorie intake. I don't think I'd count it as a snack per say though because its not going to give you any 'full' feeling or anything. :-/

I just met with the nutritionist a few days ago.  She said I could not count protein shakes toward daily liquid goal because they are dehydrating to the body.  If the drink has minimal calories and no protein, count it toward your liquid goal.  Maybe count it as both so that you don't overlook the calories you are consuming.

For the pure purpose of categorizing it on OH, list as a snack or don't select a category and it just goes into your daily totals with no category.

You could the ounces toward your water intake.  And if you count calories, you count it toward those, too.  I don't think it matters if you call it a snack or a drink.
