I had a few bites of fully loaded birthday cake and...

BLECH!

Ugh! Ack! Too sweet!

I thought sugar substitutes were supposed to be sweeter than real sugar but this thing tasted saccharine sweet. Yuck.

I think I can safely commit birthday cake to memory cuz I honestly don't have the desire to ever consume a piece again.

(And for anyone curious, I can eat regular desserts after a full meal of protein. I only have room for 2-3 bites, which I will not be wasting on birthday cake ever again!)

I can gladly give up ice cream. I can give up chocolate. I can give up cookies and candies. I do not give up cake. Tho if I'm going to risk dumping it must be white cake with white icing. Wedding cake kinda white. Pure pristine white cake with lots of vanilla in the mix....mmmmm.

I seldom ever eat cake tho. Not even on my birthday. I made a micowave mug cake with flax and almond meal. Lemon blueberry...mmm.

Confession time. I have stopped at walmart bakery and purchase what they called a single slice of white cake with white frosting. I didn't touch it till I got home. I knew it wasn't gonna pretty. And it wasn't. I ate about five bites and my son walked in. I was sitting there feeling icky, with crumbs on my face. He said I reminded him of walking in on an addict with a needle in their arm caught in the act...lol. I felt that shame. I paid for that cake, but i've done it one other time. Didn't dump the second time, course I ate less.

My son doesn't mind it tho cause he gets to eat my leftovers...lol. He just wishes I liked chocolate...lol

I was experimenting a bit (foolishly) and ate a small slice of bourbon apple cake (whole wheat flour) last nite. Was probably the alcohol but i felt so disgusting. My pouch felt filled with cement and totally nauseous. Not happening again....

Celebrated Cousin's B-day yesterday with a napoleon.  Yucko.  So dissapointing.  Expected the filling to be fluffy.  When I used to make it I used a mix of whipped cream and mousse.  This was like the crisco frosting filling.  Stomach wondered what the heck I was thinking of.  My go to treat at night is a tablespoon of 60% ghiradeli chips and a tablespoon of dried cranberries.  Takes care of sweet cravings.

Daughter's B-day is Friday and am making seafood pizza (low fat of course) and angel food cake with fresh fruit.

I will not eat crappy cake. There is a lot of crappy cake in the world. I think all those big sheets of birthday cake taste flat and  artificial.
There is a great french bakery in my neighborhood. They serve single servings of the most delicious cake. Sometimes the boy child and I go and split  a piece. Give me one or two bites of great cake.
