Is my pouch stretched?????
I'm glad I read down this far in the post. I think a high protein shake/smoothie in the morning is a great idea, or maybe some eggs, cottage cheese, here and there if you get bored and keep the focus on the protein. I seem to recall that cereal and milk unded up being like a slider food, so I could see you feeling hungry shortly after that. I have also read alot about those saying that too many carbs make them hungrier. DARN CARBS, why do they have to taste so good?! Perhaps they are a trigger food for you? Otherwise, I didn't think it seems like you were eating too much serving size wise.

It sounded more like others were saying it's not the quality of carbs you're eating (e.g. you're not eating chips & white bread) but that if you have room for those carbs like cereal, pasta & bread, you could actually be upping your protein & veggies instead of focusing on the starches. The lean proteins are going to keep you more full and there's nothing wrong with substituting egg beaters for those breakfast cereals. Also, if waiting 30 min between eating & drinking seems to be flushing you out and making you hungry too quickly, then wait an hour. Maybe 30 min is just the MINIMUM.

We are at the same time period post op. I find for myself that simple carbs are a huge trigger. I have to try and keep my carbs under 50 a day or I am off to the races with ? hunger. I log everyday and that helps me a lot. There are several good trackers. Many can be apps on your phone which is very handy. I also meal plan 90% of the time.
I think even if you switched out all those carbs for whole grain, it would still be too much. In my opinion, if you have room for all of those carbs, you could be eating way more than 70g of protein a day. Ya know? I don't think your eating too much, I think what your eating is the problem. Nothing wrong with some bread or whatever on occasion, or even once a day, but I'd be shooting for more protein before I touched all of the carby stuff.
I know how hard it is. Give me once cookie, and I'm off to the races wanting more. If I never eat it, or wait until later in the day after I've had a good deal of protein, I'm much more apt to be okay and stay on plan.
