If you took other vitamins initially after surgery, like a B Complex or D3, what did you take and when did you start taking it? I was taking D3, Fish Oil, Magnesium starting 6 months prior to surgery
Were you following your doctor's advice or did you decide to start at a different time than he or she recommended?following MD's advice

When did you begin your multivitamins after surgery?
As per surgeon instructions a standard vitamin regimine was started 10 days prior to surgery. His standard requirement was 3 multi vitamins (12 after surgery), 1500 mgs calcium citrate (3000-4500 after surgery), and D3 (which was generally recommended to take with the calcium citrate). This was altered depending on the type of surgery, and your personal labs. For me personally, I did 3 multi (then 12), 1500 cc (then 3,000), and D3. He also required us to start protein supplementing prior to surgery (3 x 30g protein shake prior to surgery, then 5 x 30g protein after).
When did you begin your iron?
I was anemic so my surgeon had me do venofer infusions as soon as this was discovered (a few months before surgery), and then began supplementing right away after that.
When did you begin your calcium citrate?
With rest of my vitamin regimen (before surgery). Surgeon always insisted upon citrate form.
When did you begin your B12?
I had good levels prior to surgery, but of course 6 months or so after surgery I started having levels he didn't like (not neccesarily low by most people's standards, but not high enough for his), so he had me begin sublingual B12, and when that still didn't boost my B12 enough, he had me do weekly shots for awhile and now I do a monthly one.

See above for B12. I didn't take D until a few months after surgery, when my levels started to sink. And he gave me the wrong kind (liquid green D2 gels), rather than the dry D, which I only started taking last month after you educated me about the difference! I haven't had recent labs yet, but can't wait to discuss this with him and see what he has to say about it. lol
Were you following your doctor's advice or did you decide to start at a different time than he or she recommended?
Following his advice ****il that last change of D2 to dry D3), and in hindsight I'd have likely started B12 prior to surgery also.
