OT - if someone gave you a million dollars

I thought of this a billion times...every night when i go to bed..lol

I would make sure my daughter has her college education paid so i would set up an account for her for that...same with each of my grandkids.  That would be about a quarter of a million if not more.

I would like to pick a family or two or three i could help them out financially by making sure they have a freezer full, a fridge full, jackets for winter and at least a few months of bills paid off..

Even though i know that someone should be taking care of these people, i recently watched a special on 20/20 about the pine ridge indian reservation in south dakota.  Have been there and its horrible and there are so many little children there going to school and the schools are poor and have no money and most of the kids are poor and need things..i would definately help out the schools for sure.

Looks like i would need to probably win a few million dollars...lol

I would give most of it to my kids and the rest of my family

Then I would built a indoor rec building for our community. We don't have one and that has always been a dream of mine.

I would make sure I had money so my kids (and maybe one day grandkids) could go to college.... would it count if I used the money to adopt a child or two?????  I mean I know it would be benefitting me, but also the children that need homes.  I want to adopt so bad, but it is expensive, you think they would want children to grow up in a loving home!!!!

From what I understand if you adopt special needs children through the state it doesn't cost anything and there may even be a subsidy.  Special needs could be age or sibling group.
If I were able to I would take in every child that needs a home.

Last year I believe it went into effect for alot of states. Ranges from about $2,000-$5,000 per kid. My partner and I plan to adopt. That will be a few years from now though. As far as money goes... $50,000 to my younger brother for school $150,000 to my sick mom $200,000 to cancer research $200,000 to AIDS resesrch $200,000 to a local animal shelter $200,000 to a local homeless shelter

W ould want to adopt a child around our daughters age (so around 4) and we wouldn't mind 2, but we wouldn't have room for more than that......  I would love to adopt a child ith ADHD or Tourettes or something along those lines.... both my brothers and my daughter have special needs.... so we have our hands full ;)

The problem is we do not make enough money.... we are going to wait until I graduate and start working next year until we pursue it more!

I think that' counts.  And I think it's great that you want to adopt.  Have you thought of being a foster parent?

yes but #1, we don't make enough money (sucks when you have lots of love and little money) and #2, our daughter has special needs and has a pretty normal routine, if we would have different children in and out of our house it would upset her routine and make her very difficult to handle.... we thought about it, but we think we would like to make it a permanent situation and not a temporary one for ourselves and for the child!

I would pay off the mortgages of my family.

Even though this would benefit me I guess, I would add on to my house so we could take on another foster child.

My son has a best friend who I can tell the family is struggling finacially, I would love to help them out.

I would also love to set up a special building that looks like a house inside, or a fun place for kids, that has special rooms so 'kids in care' and their families can have supervised visits in a warm loving environment with great toys.

I have three brothers, my mom, and a 4 month old niece. I would split it between them. OR If i could do it I would save it all for my big family I want to have.
