so my surgery was 11/1.  i lost 14 pounds by sat.  then gained 2 back and 2 back.

in 4 days i have not lost anything and actually gained 2 back for a net of 10 lbs.

WTH?  i am so depressed, i have been charting everything, all protein, calories, fluids vitamins.  following everything to the letter.  i took MOM  2 days ago and had 2 small bm.  nothing since.  i am taking some more now, could it really be poo?  i have eaten tomato soup, yogurt, protein shakes.
60 protein/60oz water/600 calories,  the shakes have alot.

could my body be freaking out?  i had more calories on my skim milk/shake diet and lost more weight.    ggrrrrrrrr

help!!!!

Don't freak out.  I am sure it is fine.  Our dates were the same.  I only do a protein shake in the morning in my decaf coffee.  Fluids during day.  Shake at lunch.  Fluids.  Broth at dinner.  Shake at night with decaf coffee.

I don't want to jump into eating foods just yet. Still trying to get the body used to less amounts so maybe to stave off hunger pangs later and to also not start ramping up cravings for more foods too soon.

Haven't had to "go" either, but not stuffed up.

Are you walking?  I am walking about 45 min a day.

Good Luck. I am sure you are ok and it will all start to even out.

i am wondering if because i lost so much the month before my body is in a weird starvation mode? and flipping out a little.  i hope it figures itself out!!  plus i have horrible breath!!!  i am wondering if i have ketosis or something........

ok i feel a little bettter!  i hear people talk about the 1st month where you are eating nothing and not seeing alot of results being though. guess i have to buck up!

Your body is freaking out and adjusting.  Just scroll through a few days worth of posts on this board.  How many posts like yours do you see?  Your body is doing what it's supposed to do.

You mentioned that you thought about drinking shakes.  So I take it you're not drinking any now?  How are you getting your protein in?

My gosh, cut your body some slack.  You just had major surgery.  Hide the scale and stop worrying.  You are doing fine.  Your emotions are likely to be wacky because you store hormones in fat and as you lose, you release them.  You have lost more than 1 lb a day.  Did you really expect to continue to lose a pound a day?  No, I know you didn't.  Again, if the scale is making you crazy, hide it.  If you are following your plan, you will lose.  No way around that.

Ummm this is called your body just went through MAJOR surgery and it is trying to figure out how to survive on what you just did to it.
Keep up your fluids and protien and you will be fine.  You will start to lose weight, don't worry.

I am glad I could make you laugh. :)

I find it funny how every one panics about not losing weight instantly and every day.  It isn't going to happen.  Plain and simple.  You will have weeks where you do lose a pound a day and then maybe a month where you only lose 1 pound.  That is how it goes.  Stick with your plan and you will lose.  Don't worry.

Welcome to the losers bench!

i do drink the shakes, 2 a day, i meant thought about shakes only and nothing else yet.

i know all these things, but it helps to hear it!! thanks so much, i just wanted to make sure this was normal.  i didnt expect a miracle, but gaining 4 pounds back and not losing for 4 days was discouraging!

thanks again for the support!
