Bariatric geriatrics...
Hi. I'm 58 & I just passed my one year anniversary on October 26th. You will see from my comments that I am still on a major learning curve and that I hope some of my answers will change with time and practice. I long to be where you are now!
1. I am still enamored with obsessive food thoughts. I pray to have that stop.
2. I found out that I have hypopnea, which means shallow breathing, so I still have to use my CPAP.
3. I can't eat sweets in moderation. It's like hitting the "GO NOW!!!!" button for me. One bite and I'm
off to the races.
4. I can't eat much at one time, but I can drag it out into grazing if I'm not careful.
5. I recognize the mindless eating symptoms, but I'm still not stopping it completely.
6. I am seeing a therapist to help me with this stuff.
I also wanted to mention how thankful I am to you and Poet Kelly, Dave. Lora and Lady Tazz and all of the others who have helped me navigate through this process without having to call the doctor's office every time I have a question. I don't even have to ask because our questions are very common and you folks are so wonderful about repeating answers for us. Thank you for your patience, for your inspiration, and for the courage to open yourselves up to us so we can realize that you are not perfect, either, but you still keep up the good attitude and inspire us because of your struggles. I appreciate you so much!
