I think this Abilify is making me nauseous

I've only been taking it for three days so maybe it's not the Abilify, maybe it's just a coincidence that I feel nauseous, or if it is the Abilify, maybe I will get used to it and the nausea will go away.  I'm gonna try to stick it out for a few more days.  But I feel miserable.  I'm not throwing up, I don't really feel like I going to throw up, I just feel queasy.  I'm able to get enough protein and liquids in, but I don't feel very hungry and nothing sounds appetizing.

I really hate it when meds make you feel sick instead of feeling better.

Maybe I should call my doc tomorrow and ask for some Zofran or something?

Maybe. Do they have the extended release for Abilify?I learned the hard way with my effexor, that if I didnt do the extended release I got really sick.  Sorry you arent feeling well, that is a miserable feeling.

I usually don't do the extended release meds since we usually don't absorb them as well as regular pills or capsules.  Since our digestive system is shorter than normal, they usually aren't in there long enough to absorb them completely.  I have no problem with the non-extended release Effexor, although it tastes terrible.

Yeah it is pretty disgusting. WIth the realize band (that I am so looking forward to getting rid of) I was either absorbing it to quickly or not at all depending on how it felt like working that day. (sigh) Seemed like the extended gave some relief to the ickies. Zofran knocks me on my butt lol.

It is making you sick. I really need to be on my meds, BUT the Abilify and Zoloft was making me deathly ill.  I have had to stop both but with terrible drawbacks.  I will be trying a different regimen of meds soon to stabilize.  Good luck to you Kelly.

I have had two kids on Abilify. It always made them nauseous the first week or so. We solved it by breaking pills into half doses for first few days before taking full dose. Also if you take at bedtime you sleep through the worst.

My older daughter has been on it for several years now. It saved her life, a really good med.

that's good to know, hopefully the nausea will go away soon.  I am taking it at bedtime but I am nauseous all day.
