I have been eating two prunes a day, chewing them really well, and the making sure that I get my water in.  That seems to keep me very regular. Sometimes I will have a day or two inbetween, but then it starts up again.  Hang in there and hopefully something will come soon!

Hey Kelly, not sure if you are still suffering but the only thing that I have found that is mild on my system is Milk of Mag. and lots of water.  I too get that bloated/full feeling higher up but nothing "down there" where you would think the build up should be.  Good luck! I know for me that if I don't take care of it that after a few days my food that I eat comes back up shortly after I eat and I HATE that!!!

Hey didn't you just recently cut back on starchy carbs? Here's the thing, I did that too, about 6 weeks ago, and within a few weeks I also started to have issues with constipation. (I think the wheat and etc help in the potty department!) So, since I can't have those types of carbs right now, and in spite of still getting plenty of fiber in the form of leafy greens, etc. I was still having big issues. And I have always been fine since surgery with just a few stool softeners a day, but even after adding Magox I was still having issues. I also didn't feel the urge to go, but the pressure and crampy/bloat was driving me nuts. A nurse friend suggessted senna. It's a vegetable laxative and it's gentle. AND IT WORKS!! LOL Within 24 hours of just one pill, my problem was fixed! And it doesn't keep you running to the potty or anything, or give you cramping, or any of that. You can get the senna tabs pretty cheap at walmart (for an off brand) or I've even seen senna tea (but can't vouch for it). I'd highly recommend it!

I think it depends on what kind of starchy stuff you're eating.  If it's whole grain bread, yeah, the fiber will help in the potty department.  But if you're eating pretzels and tortilla chips, the wheat in that has been pretty much stripped of the fiber (along with all the vitamins), so those would not help with the potty department.

I eat a lot of beans, though, for protein and they have lots of fiber.  In fact, I think that's one reason I didn't have constipation since my RNY until a few months ago.  All the beans I eat.  I think the only reason I am having this trouble now is because of a medication I recently started.  Constipation is a common side effect.

Well, I wasn't eatting the best carby stuff either...lol. But for whatever reason I cut them out and I quit pooping! LOL Actually I probably correlated that wrong, it's probably because I am now getting a whole lot MORE protein...and then take away the other stuff...for ME it was a recipe for clay rofl.

Yeah I didn't think about the meds, you are right it's probably that! Either way, I highly recommend senna! Whatever you choose, I hope it all comes out ok (haha punny).
