yet another poop question... yes, TMI

Being a fairly new post-op this has been my biggest nemesis. I am definitley not regular by any means, in fact this morning I "went" for the first time in a week. Let me tell ya, my guts were hurting this morning and I spent a long time in the bathroom. It felt so good to get it all out. I then weighed myself and I was down 2 lbs from yesterday. So I guess the saying is true " I really am full of "****" Lol. I have tried Miralax but I just couldn't stomach it. I now have to be better at putting benefiber in everything! This is all such a learning experience. Kelly, hope your feeling better soon!

Good ol' MofM is not a bad thing if you really feel like you NEED to evacuate your bowels. Or stool softeners.

Good luck

You drink coffee don't you?  That usually keeps me going like clock-work.  Nuts & popcorn usually help me stay regular as well.

I can't offer a whole lot of advice since I haven't had to deal with constipation like that (yet?).. but I hope you find relief soon..

I work in healthcare and the #1 thing I recommend to my patients is warm (not hot) prune juice.  It's natural and it will likely produce a movement within a few hours.

Caution here would be that I don't know how that will affect your stomach/bowels,  Good luck, hope everything comes out ok and yes, pun was intended, lol.

Not feeling like you have to go is a good sign.  Bloating probably an indication that "build up" is happening.

I take benefiber, Mag Oxide, too, plus stool softners in am and pm.  I drink a hot protein mocha with 1 scoop Click in the morning.  Usually within 10 minutes of drinking that - I have results.

Personally - I would stay away from "laxatives" until you are uncomfortable.

I am still not feeling like I have to go.  And I am hesitant to go for any  laxatives until I do feel like I'm ready to go but can't.  But the bloating and stomach pain is making me uncomfortable.  But I'm not sure a laxative would even work well if there's nothing down there ready to come out, you know?

All the grease, probably?  Yeah, I'm not trying that!

I went just a tiny bit this morning.  I think I will go for a suppository if I don't go more by myself today.
