i'm looking for a job, which is pretty much a part time job and super stressful. my BA is in arts and entertainment management so that's pretty impossible in this economy. i'm getting my masters in fashion studies which is the academic end of fashion. i'm contemplating getting a second masters or phD after archival or museum studies and hope to work in fashion archives or as a curator. worst case scenario i'll teach

I'm a mama to 4 girls....ages 15, 11, 7, & 2. Before that, I was a pharmacy technician. My ultimate dream is to be a Labor & Delivery Nurse someday....

I've done everything from working as a bartender in a blue-collar bar with two pool tables, to retail clerk, to a technician in an oil refinery. Of all the jobs I've held, the oil refinery paid the best! Now unwillingly retired due to bad economy. Thank god for SS; otherwise I'd be living under a bridge.

I work from home typing medical transcription. It's not the most exciting job, but it's definitely nice to be able to set my own hours and work at home.

I am a 41 year old nursing student at the University of
Alaska, Anchorage. I worked in physical therapy for 12
years and wanted a change, so I decided to follow my
childhood dreams of becoming a nurse. I am done with
all the book work and I am just waiting to start the clinicals.

Alaska?  Oh my.  Do you hate the cold?  I am in Ohio and I hate winter here.  I can't imagine Alaska.

The snow is pretty when it is falling, but no fun to walk/drive in. But I still love Alaska. I have mountain out my front and back of my house and it is just so pretty.

I wear two different hats, I'm a stay at home mom of 3 (one with special needs) ages 5-12, so I do that whole soccer mom thing (only ours looks more like the girl scouts/wrestling/clubs thing). I love that job.

My husband and I also own our own drywall contracting business, and while he is the brawn of the opperation (busts his but 6 days a week), I am the brain...so I also do the whole marketing/bookkeeping/payroll/accounting thing. Gotta say self employment is not all it's cracked up to be!! After I file quarterlies each time and give a huge part of our profits to Uncle Sam in the form of numerous taxes, I find myself thinking long and hard about donning a McDs uniform!

But we make enough to squeak by usually, and it allows me to be with my kids and available for the various issues that come up with my son.  I'd probably be fired at a "regular job" after having to leave work to go to my son's school as often as I have to. So it is what it is, and I appreciate that at least we have a way to get the bills paid and at the same time still support my kids (and hubby) in the ways they need me to! And I'm reminded that some people have no income and some have no family to care for, so I am blessed on both counts! Can't really complain in that light :o)

You always come up with the good question posts Kelly!

I'm a Dean of Discipline at a large (and low income) public high school.  Basically, the students come see me- when they've been naughty!!

ps. I used to be a Special Ed. teacher (hence the screen name Inked SpEd Teacher) but I'm on a special assignment for a while.

Dean of discipline?  Do most schools have that now?  It's probably a good idea.  When my  nephew lived with me last school year, the principal handled all the discipline issues.  I think my nephew needed his own dean of discipline - he could have kept a full time employee busy all by  himself!
