surgery date doubts & postponing
i am FREAKING OUT! im almost in tears im so torned. my surgery date was given to me in mid october initially for the 1st of nov but it was a mistke in the office because i was yet to go to any necessary class or have not met either the nutritionist, so i had it changed no problem, but they gave me the 15th and i still feel like its to soon. everyone tells me to get over with the surgery, and i get the 'why would you postpone' comments from the nurses and i just feel like everyone else wants it more than me. YES i know in my heart that this surgery is a must for me, but not in one week! i feel like its not enough time for me to process, i dont know. i am young so don't judge, lol and i need my last food horrah! nobody understands me...
Everyone has these doubts as their date gets closer. Just calm down. Why do you NEED a last food hurrah? Do you think you will never be able to eat again? You will just not as much as you can now. And the fact that you can have this surgery while you are young is a plus in my book. You have what alot of us wish we had. A longer time to be healthy and live a fun healthy life.

early out no food is not fun but that changes pretty quickly at least for me. I am 7 months out and enjoy food. There isn't anything I can not eat. I just make better choices and eat less now.
Can I ask why you feel that way?

If you haven't had time to really consider all the changes you'll need to make and how WLS will change your life then take that time now. You shouldn't feel rushed by the surgeon's office to get it booked. Why don't you see if they can't book you for January if that would give you enough time to think things through?
I'd be thrilled to get surgery booked so quickly as we have waiting lists and limited surgery time available for this elective surgery here in Canada. Some people literally wait years for it. Having said that though I've had several months to think it all through and know it is exactly what is right for me.
