It's that time of month and I usually do not get cramps, or maybe have a little bit of cramping the first day and that's it.  This is day three, though, and I've had cramps for three days, but today is the worst.  And Tylenol?  Yeah.  Just not cutting it.

DAMN! do I miss the days I could take an NSAID......I was never told about the no NSAIDS sor life until post-op and becoming a member here...

Since I have had so many kids, ya know "10" I don't cramp anymore but mid-cycle for 3 days I have horrible ovulation pain.  They call it , I know I am going to jack up the spelling but I think "mittlesmurths".....anyway google it and sorry I misspelled it

What I keep on hand is Tramadol....I take 100 mg and I also take a muscle relaxant Flexeril 10mg.......hope you feel better

that is the only thing I miss about being pregnant for the majority of my marriage......no periods

I usually have cramps for about 3 days with mine. They suck, I'm in a fetal position for almost the whole time. I love not having my period anymore.

Try chasing the tylenol with some caffine...(coffee or if you drink it..soda)...it helps.
Or try the Midol brand with acetaminophen; for whatever reason that caffine really helps.
Since the age of 11 I have had bad cramps...throwing up and just out of it for the first 2 to 3 days. ADVIL was always my drug of choice. My first period after surgery had me in the ER cause I was throwing up for 24hr striaght and dehydrated. My sister gave me the tip of using Tylenol with the caffine and I haven't had an episode like that since. NOW don't get me wrong it's not ADVIL but it does take the edge off.

I havent had a period since 1988 but when I did, I always had bad cramps. What helped me was a HOT bath.
Hope you feel better soon.

For those of you using birth control pills, consider asking your OB if you can skip periods.  It was wonderful and I did it for six months at a time.  It also meant that my physician had no problem perscribing a small amount of Ultram for that period.

Good luck!
