thanks to all *****sponded to my post yesterday
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that responded to my post about depression yesterday. I did go to my appointment and he gave me a new script, this time for Abilify. I don't feel very hopeful that it will help much since none of the million other meds I've tried have helped much, but I will try it and see. I also have an appointment with my therapist later today. I have not been to therapy for a couple months due to financial problems but it seems pretty obvious I really need to go. Hopefully that helps some.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I'm glad you're willing to give the Abilify a try. I hope you find the write meds to give you some relief. Brain chemistry probs require so much trial and error. I can only imagine how frustrating that can be. You put so much good energy out into this community. I believe good things will happen for you.
Because I'm worth it....
So glad you posted...I too suffer from depression. "The secret sickness" I saw my dr. yesterday also and she put me on Cipralex. A cousin of Celebrex. I was resistant at first but in the end knew that I needed help. She told me that I take prevacid to prevent an ulcer so why not an anti-depressent to help my chemical imbalance. I guess that scored a point for me.
Hope all goes well with your meds.

Biq squeezy hug to you~Glad to see you back on board today!
Depression sucks and finding the right treatment is even worse sometimes.
I hope your therapist may be among those that offer a sliding scale for his/her lower income patients to ensure that you can visit as often as you need too.
Best of luck with the Abilify!

Hi Kelly thank you for letting us know how everything went. I am in the same situation as well I have not seen my therapist as well in some time. I have been going solo without my meds
tired of them changing them around and things not working. I too have suffered in silence due to the frustration of all that is going on in and around me. But anyway don't want to be a soap opera. Take care hope everything works out. Keep us posted.

I was on Abilify and I loved it. I was diag with major depression, panic disorder and ocd and they gave it to me for about a year or more. My insurance didnt cover it at the time so I relied on samples from the doctor for a while. When I couldnt get anymore samples paid about 50 a month for it so I couldnt afford it long. They just asked that I watch my sugar levels on it. even though I wasnt diabetic.
