Surgery Date Dec. 6,
I went to my required support group meeting Monday night and asked about the pain and of course everyone is different, and yes they give you good drugs according to the ones who had surgery, and it was only for a day or two the pain. I HAVE to have this surgery, I am 58 and my hips are shot and have other health issues. So badly want my life back and I am sure you do too. I have never posted before, so you are my first person to talk to. Thanks!
My surgery is also set for december 6th. I had my 3-hour surgical class today. We went over what to eat prior and post surgery, vitamins, what not to take etc... I am totally excited about this surgery. I have struggled to control my glucose levels and have become increasingly insulin resistant. I am excited that i may be able to eliminate, or at least greatly reduce my dependence on insulin. I attended the October support group meeting and a girl had RYGB surgery 4 months ago and has lost 80 pounds. She had no complications no severe pain. She said our surgeon is fabulous. If I am not so lucky, I can bear it as i know the end result is what I want, to be healthier. Wishing you the best of luck.
