Okay, everybody repeat after me...

This is a process.

No improvement worth making happened overnight.

Even though this is hard, I am doing the very best that I can right at this moment. Even if it's just staying off the ledge, I am doing what I can do.

Today may not have been my day, but tomorrow is a new opportunity to start over.

I didn't get obese overnight. Nor should I expect to get fit overnight. It will take hard work mentally and physically.

If I take my journey one day at a time, I'll get to enjoy all the little joys that I might miss by always being fixated on the big picture.

I deserve to be happy but happiness is only partly due to losing the weight.

I commit to figuring out where MY joy comes from so that when I get to where I am supposed to be in this process, I have a real chance at happiness.

I am doing a good job. Even on the days when I am not.

Now breathe! Mistakes are opportunities for learning and growth. Stumbles teach you how to walk more carefully. Roadblocks are created to make you re-evaluate your path. New paths can lead to happiness you never imagined you could have.

But for now, just know that so long as you are moving forward, even in baby steps, you're headed in the right direction.

Hugs everyone!

Thanks for reminding me of this. I'm pre-op, and doing my one year supervised weight loss, and boy did I have a hard time with the Halloween candy tonight. Once I started ("One won't hurt..."), it was hard to stop.l So I won't touch it. It seems wasteful to me, but I have to just get rid of it. Otherwise, I'll end up really regreting it.

Double- like this post. I'll have to keep this is mind as I've just begun my journey.

Melody did you say 1 yr supervised weight loss? I never heard of it being that long. Good job on not eating the candy. My twins went trick or treating today also and I din't so much as lick a piece of it. That's a first for me.

Hug to you too, Miss Nikki... you rock, but you know that's how I've always felt!

As always, aptly said. Nik, what a timely reminder...just before Holidays
and such. You remind me that today was a "good" day with good food
choices at my work potluck and making the joy in the chatting and
connecting instead of heaps of cake and desserts and such.

Workplace holidays can be difficult for certain... too many temptations.  Nicely done in avoiding them as much as possible, Miss Jann!
