 iam 8 weeks post op, my suergoun is always traveling so i dint have the chance to follow up properly with him  in the first month as i had to go back to my study to another country with no schedule nor protein advices or extra vitamend to add , now i eat normal food , sometimes junk but in very small amounts as they give me nausea, i eat sugar as well it doesnt cause me dumping i really want help following a proper diet schedule , including the protein    im not losong weight , does it mean my surgery is runed or destroyed or unable to work properly?im really depressed and sad as i expected im going to be organized and to lose weight rapidly    many thanks

Is hard to go back so soon and more if you are away.  But remember, you can do this.  First try to contact your Dr and nutricionist, or maybe to be refer to one in the are that you are now.  It is very important to take your vitamins: ussually multivitamin and caltrate with vitamin D in the morning.  Iron at noon and B-12, vitamin A and caltrate with vitamin D in the afternoon.  Stay away from fatty and unhealthy food.  Have healthy snacks with you (Cabbott cheddar cheese is an easy 50 cal and 6 protein in a 1 ounce bar -reduced fat, your protein shakes, fruits, fat/sugar free pudding, yougurt, etc) if you can't find them where you are, have a relative or friend mail it to you, or buy it online. Don't give up, there are a ton of ways to get what you need, and please remember to excercise, it does not matter how long you are there, if you can 1 hour is good, if you can only do 15 minutes, is good too, just don't stay sitting, look for alternatives.  Exercise will help you to releas your stress too, try Zumba is free in the internet, and other exercises too, you can even find a trainer online.  You can chat and do video conferences with anyone, doctors, trainer, family.  Don't give up, get back on track, I am not sure which surgery you had, I belive RNY.  If you take care of yourself and don't over eat you will be ok, keep it up!!!

Well, some of us sometimes note the no so good things about loosing weight, I have to say that it serve on my case to find a fibroid and it will be removed.  Thanks God!

Thank You so much for your cheerful words and advices , they definately help , and you are right , if i cant reach my surgeoun i need to find somebody in where i live, uk , so i can be on the right track
p.s i never been on any vitamins but centrum and B12 , plus they didnt give me any protein advices to add to my diet

Caltrate is actually the wrong type of calcium for us.  It's calcium carbonate and we can't absorb it.  We need calcium citrate.

 Ok.  I am sure that Kelly or Dave or someone smarter than I will come give you advice about the vitamins, so I'll skip that. 
  Stop eating junk.  Stop it!  Put down the french fry and walk away!  =] No, seriously.. eating junk this early out is not a good idea.
  What do you mean by "normal food"?  Stuff that was normal for me pre-op is much different that stuff that is normal for me now.  Stay away from simple carbs this early out.  Protein first!  How MUCH are you eating of these normal foods?  Also, you are just about at the time that a lot of u**** our first stall.  So, even if you are making good food choices, your body may just be taking a break.  
If you are NOT making good food choices, you will continue to lose weight for a while.. that's pretty much unavoidable, but eventually, it will catch up with you and you will gain it all back and have had the surgery for nothing.  

Did your doctor give you any literature?  A menu of acceptable foods?  Anything?  If not, start doing some research.. now.   Read these forums.  Go to http://s3.amazonaws.com/publicASMBS/GuidelinesStatements/Gui delines/bgs_final.pdf .. it's long.. and a fairly boring read.. but if you skip down to S79, it has a guideline for supplements you should take.  (Or you can just wait for Kelly or Dave or one of the more knowledgeable vets to explain it all to you).

 You need to get some heavy nutritional counseling, so that you are aware of what you need to eat...teach you how to measure your foods...and support.
         .No info on how tall you are or the size frame you have or how much weight you need to loose.. This may help you judge...to give you a beginning place. The sooner you get on track with your diet, the sooner you will be  to your goal weight. You can do this!
     . My beginning weight was 2921/2 and with a small frame, My surgeon recommended I eat 90 Grams of protein daily...and limit carbs to about 40-50... try to get your protein with some of the  protein shakes. Be aware that you may not tolerate all kinds...( I have to use soy ones, I don't tolerate whey.)..get some  one serving paks of severaAL KINDS TO FIND ONE YOU LIKE.  Make sure you get  plenty water, and your protein in every day.  at 8 weeks with my pouch, My minimum  fluid was 60 ounces...per day.Using liquid protein allows you to count the same liquid as  fluids and protein...
