Water weight, when is it considered bad?

Okie dokie, we just got a water cooler - the kind for drinking water. I've been drinking ALOT of water the past couple days. Like yesterday I had 10..8oz glasses. Normally I'd consider that good but I'm not urinating it out.  I'm weighin in 5-6 lbs more than normal. I could care less that the scale says 190 instead of 185..big whoop ..it's water weight. My question is... I also feel bloated so at what point would I need to "worry" about not as much out as there is going in? With that 80oz of water I only urinated twice and not a whole lot when I did just normal.  O_o  I'm gonna have a glass of cranberry juice (juice, NOT ****tail..too much sugar in ****tail) since I tend to get uti's easily. Not sure if we can take water pills or not but I don't even know when the retention would become an issue??

Any advice is welcome ^_^ ..and again.. I could care less what the scale said but I can tell because I can feel the bloated feeling right where my belt goes in the front...odd O_o

I still retain fluid and have some swelling in my ankles almost daily.  My PCP said it was normal after losing this much weight.  I've always heard the way to stop retaining fluid is to have more fluid and I know some foks aim for 100oz .  Is your sodium level high??

I would watch your salt intake.  beyond that, keep drinking a lot and if you continue retaining a lot of water, you might wanna give your doc a call Monday.  I'm not sure at what point it because a big concern, but it sure won't hurt to make a phone call.

I think giving your doc a call on monday is a good thing. You need to check out if you have an infection, or if your kidneys are functioning ok. Do you feel short of breath more than usual? Your blood pressure ok? Monitor the color of your urine. With the amount of water you are drinking, your urine should be a clear, pale yellow. Don't look at taking diuretics (water pills) unless you are sure that is exactly what you need. Hope all goes well!

My salt intake is NORMALLY little to zero (added of course..I know theres sodium in pre-made foods).. but I did think back and realized I had cheezits..which are loaded with salt but that alone shouldn't have done it. I AM waiting for results from a 24 hr heart monitoring, pcp thinks I have an arrythmia - that could have something to do with it.  Cranberry juice is out right now - I'm SO angry at the lack of low sugar and sugar free juices in my town.  I just got another flavor of crystal light to sort of "change it up" with the flavors and so I don't get tired of water.  I'll just keep pumping in liquids and wait till monday when I should hear back from pcp on heart monitoring anyhow -_- just sucks because I feel like I swallowed a watermelon and it's sitting between my pouch and my bladder LOL!

You can't get Ocean Spray Cranberry with Splenda in your town?

Believe it or not...no I cant lol. Even called the health food store...their idea of low sugar is 14g per 8oz serving....uhm...I dont think so.  My town kinda sucks for finding healthy options and if they ARE availible it's usually cheaper to drive to a bigger place an hour away because the health food store here charges almost triple what you would pay at Costco or online even.

I get so frustrated though, there's an ENTIRE WALL in every grocery store with hard liquor, beer and other alcohols but when you look at the options for juice and low/no sugar options..there's maybe 1 or 2 items. They think we need to look at fast food places to rid the U.S of "obesity epidemic" I say you look right in our grocery stores -_- ...sorry..I'm on a rampage today LOL

The sad thing is, they just stock up on what sells really well.  Apparently  many more people want beer than want low sugar fruit juice.  It kind of becomes a cycle, though, because now that they have all the alcohol and no low sugar juices, they are going to keep selling lots of beer, and they can't sell any low sugar juice because they don't have any.

Maybe I should open a store with home made low sugar high protein foods lol. I do NOT have the patience but ya' know...a bariatric friendly restuarant right next to the hospital would not be a bad idea...hmmm....
