Low Carb / High Protein Tortilla
is this something you can make sandwiches or wraps out of? and would they be good to make small thin pizza's out of? Your only about a week ahead of me. How much are you eating at each meal and what phase are you in? I am in mashed food phase but seem to be able to eat anything as long as its pretty tender. had to stop eating some pretty awfully tough pork the other night. Wasn't comfortable eating it. But i am hungry at night and have caught myself doing some grazing which i need to get under control. Have been on a plateau for awhile now...seems at least a week i have not lost any weight. But am with my daughter in ND so i need to get home and start in on the shakes and such again and really start exercising. thanks for posting this. can't wait to try them soon.
Hi lilbear,
My surgeon does not have a "traditional" diet plan; we do one week of clear liquids post-op, then we are released to all "normal food" with the exceptions of no grains, four-legged animals, raw veggies, corn, white potatoes and caffeine. I hope to be released to start trying some grains next week at my two month appointment. I have not tried these wraps yet, but I bought them in preparation. I want to use them with sliced turkey and cheese as wraps, as well as for a sub for pizza crust.
I can eat 1/2 cup at most meals. I have a lot of food issues still. I pretty much avoid chicken breast - but I can eat 4 Chick-Fil-A nuggets w/out a problem, in small pieces with some mustard. It's got a light batter coating, but they are pressure fried so they are not as bad and very moist. I mostly stick with ground chicken and turkey. I do a lot of turkey or chicken chili. I am going to make some turkey meatballs today and cook them in tomato soup like you would a porcupine meatball, no rice though. I think it will make them very moist. I miss salad and can't wait to get that back in my diet. I think fish and chicken salads with low fat or fat free dressing will be a mainstay for me - I dump on fats so dressing will be a challenge for me.
I have been stalled for about a week, too. I suspect part of it is because on my TOM, but also I need to work getting my calories up, which is so hard. That seems to help break stalls. I need to walk more, too. I get night graze cravings on occasion, too - I try to fight them with a SF popsicle, and it seems to work.

Yeah these will be in my cart by wednesday night when i get back home...lol Its amazing how different surgeons are. I will not be able to eat "normal foods" until probably mid November but for all intense purposes i am on normal foods now with the exception of whole grains/lettuce and hard vegies. I dont' eat a lot of hard vegies anyways mostly cooked. i am curious about corn because i know even though its chewed it seems to go through whole.. I also have made pizza's with flat outs and in one of my WLS books i found a recipe for whole grain pizza crust i might try..for a treat. this week i am hungry for pizza...lol i seem to crave things but when i can eat them they do nothing for me...lol which means the surgery is working...
