Dear Poet Kelly - Thanks
Oh, well thank you very much. It's so nice of you to say all this.
And I'm glad the Mirilax worked. I've used Metamucil in the past and I could get it down, but yeah, it was funky. I can put the Mirilax in anything, just a plain cup of tea even, and I don't taste it at all. It's miracle stuff, I swear. I've been using it daily and there have been a couple times I've still had a little trouble in the bathroom, but nothing like before I started the Mirilax.
There's kind of a payoff or an incentive for me to be here and to answer questions and stuff. I get an immense amount of support here. I don't always need an immense amount of support, but I have gone through a few really difficult periods, not even WLS-related, and I have gotten so much help and support here on OH that's it's just amazed me. Where do you think I learned about the miracle of Mirilax?
But I don't just mean someone answering questions or responding to a post with something kind or insightful. Those things are very important, yeah, but people have been helpful far beyond that. I'm talking about someone I met on OH staying up talking to me on the phone almost all night once when I was really depressed and couldn't sleep. Someone sending me a brand new glucometer when I needed one, and even sending it priority mail so it got here fast. Things like that.
So the incentive for me to be here, and to answer questions (even the same ones, over and over again) is that I get to be part of an incredibly supportive, caring community. And a community of people that were willing to talk to me about constipation and make suggestions even though I know that's one of those questions that gets asked all the time and I'm sure they were tired of talking about poop. No one suggested I just go back and read some of the hundreds of threads already on the RNY board about it. They told me what works and they sympathized. I'm delighted to be here and to have the opportunity to pay it forward sometimes.

Kelly has been such a stong support for me. She is open and honest about her experiences (about WLS loss related issues, but also about NON WLS related)... I love that. She patiently answers questions that she has answered a hundred times before and always does so without sounding condesending or impatient.
It's funny how people don't know how much they actually affect other people's lives here. I live in the middle of nowhere. There are no support groups here. I haven't had medical coverage in what seems like forever. I occasionally post questions on the board, but when I am afraid to post the question (for fear that it is SO stupid that I am just ASKING to get flamed), I have been able to message her and she has NEVER made me feel stupid for asking.. and she has ALWAYS given me a well thought out answer. I think of Kelly every time I buy vitamins.. and I have often quoted her when asked questions about my WLS.
Thank you, Kelly. You have been a HUGE support for me and many others on the board.

Kelly is definitely an inspiration! You're right about being able yo think back on her advice to others in our own times of need.

*frantically waving arm* oooh me too, me too! I too am grateful for Kelly's help. After a long break from OH I recently returned and although I thought I had supplements figured out, Kelly helped me understand my vitamin deficiencies are likely from taking a few of my vits in forms we RNYers can't absorb. Not only was this info helpful to me, I have passed it on to a few others who found the info super helpful too! Like others here, I was also struck by Kelly's desire to help, in a non judgemental way, and for no reason other than just to be a help. Thank you Kelly! You rock!!
I have sent Kelly so many PMs with long rants about WLS related issues I was going through at the time. I appreciate her so much!
With that being said I think we should also acknowledge all the vets who take the time to answer all of our questions. I think it is great that we have a RNY Forum OH family. I am so happy I get to be a part of it.
Thank you Kelly and thank you VETS!!!

Thank you Kelly and thank you VETS!!!
Many, many thanks Kelly for being here every day and educating us and helping us! I learned more from you than I ever could have from my surgeon. I have also enjoyed our chats via PM's, discussing eggs, cows, and flying bread machines!

I'll add to the joyous cacophony.....Oh Yeah to Kelly! Thank you. It's so nice to have
this forum family of friends and I agree...Kelly is our OH mother...always watchful
for misinformation and challenging all of us to ask important questions and think
outside the box. I value your insight Kelly. A big thanks from me.
