How Often Do You Eat?

You'll get hungry sooner with slider foods.  They don't stay in your pouch as long and when your pouch is empty, you feel hungry.  That doesn't necessarily mean you should never eat sliders, but when you eat them, you should expect to be hungry sooner.

I eat about every 2 hours starting after 1p. For some reason my pouch hates to eat or drink anything in the morning. Sometimes, I eat more often, sometimes less. I can say that I eat roughly 6 to 8 times a day. I only eat 1/2 c. to 3/4 c. at a time and keep my calories at around 900 to 1100 a day. If I'm not eating though, I'm drinking. After 1p, it's a struggle to get everything in that I need to.

I'm eating 3 times a day with one or 2 snacks and sipping fluids throughout the
day. Honestly, I haven't counted calories in the longest time, but I should
probably start doing that. I don't get very hungry yet, occasionally I have a day
where it seems I've eaten a lot, but I'm mindful of eating protein-rich foods and
staying away from junk. I absolutely listen to my pouch- can't eat solid food in
the morning first thing and some days It just gets cranky so I do protein drinks
and homemade soups all day. If my pouch is happy, I'm happy. I feel great and
15 pounds from goal, I'm still losing, albeit slowly.

  • *I eat 3 main meals a day (B, L, D) no further than 5-6 hours apart
  • *I eat 2-3 protein snacks a day at least 2-3 hours from breakfast, lunch, or dinner
  • *I alot myself maintenance calories of 1650 a day (but I usually eat around 1500)
  • I do not participate in a formal exercise program due to Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis.

 I get  hungry around 3 hours or so. It depends on how much exercise I'm doing. I like you had the hardest time getting my caloric intake in and since I am an exercise junkie I really can poop out quickly during my workout routine. Protein shakes are a big help.  Another thing I found really really helpful are the Melaleuca access bars. It gives me soooooo much more staying power I can't believe it. 

It makes a difference me thinks on what food you are eating. I definitely  stay away from simple carbs. The other thing I do from time to time is drink some fiber before eating a meal. It slows down the rate of absorbtion. I had my RNY Aug 25 2010 and I rarely have any dumping syndrome. All total I have lost 155lbs with another 38lbs to go. It sure does get harder to loose weight as I get closer to goal. It took me 2 months to loose 6 lbs.

I eat when I'm hungry.  I don't really know just how often that is, but it usually works out to three or four times a day.  

Typical day:
  A protein coffee
  A handful of nuts, a protein bar, or some jerky
  A couple of egg whites with grilled onions, peppers and a little ham
  Half of a chicken breast or some steak or whatever for dinner
  Another protein coffee

*shrug*  Seems to be working so far.  I think my biggest problem is getting in enough calories.
