low carb snack ideas?

I have concluded I am eating too many carbs.  My jeans are feeling a big snug and I've had more problems with low blood sugar lately and I seem to be hungrier and craving sweets more.  I hate to say it, but I think it's too many carbs.

So I need some low carb snack ideas.  But you know, nothing in my life is ever easy.  I need snacks that are low in carbs, but hopefully high in protein.  I do fruit for snacks sometimes but need protein snacks too.  However, I don't eat meat so I can't do things like beef jerky.  At this time I really prefer to avoid dairy products, as well.  I am trying to find a place to buy milk locally from pastured cows, at which time I am going to start making my own yogurt, but until then, I prefer not to buy dairy in the store.

My ideas so far are nuts, celery with almond butter, raw veggies with hummus and egg salad (I eat eggs).  Any other ideas?

So I had the brilliant idea to suggest turkey peperoni until I remembered you are a vegetarian. Your making this hard on me Kelly! lol

What about roasted chick peas? You can flavor them with all sorts of seasoning.

Hey, you just reminded me!  I have vegetarian pepperoni in the fridge!  I forgot it was in there.  That's what I'm having for my snack later.  Thanks!

Did you know there was such a thing as veggie pepperoni?  One of my cats loves it but the other two must be able to tell it's not real meat because they won't touch it.

Roasted chick peas is a good idea too.  What do you flavor them with?

Deviled eggs?   Edamame beans with sea salt?

I was going to suggest melted mozzellera cheese but i see you said no dairy.  I love melted cheese, nuke it for a couple minutes.

Bell pepper nachos?  Use peppers (cut up) in place of chips, and put nachos toppings on .. yum!

I like to nuke cheese too.  I love cheese.

Bell pepper nachos is a good idea.  Maybe I'll put some soy cheese on them for the flavor.  But I could use beans on them too for protein.

I'm mostly vegetarian (I eat fish) but I rely heavily on dairy products, I googled vegan snacks -- and most are ALL carbs.  I found a couple that fit the bill (unfortunately, I would enjoy these more with a carb):

Caponata

Caponata is an eggplant salad common in Sicily. It is comprised of eggplant cubes, green olives, garlic, celery, onion diced tomatoes, vinegar and olive oil. You can add other ingredients, such as basil, parsley, black pepper and pine nuts. Salt and cook the eggplant in olive oil until soft, then add the remaining ingredients. Caponata is typically served cold, so you may choose to refrigerate this dish overnight before enjoying it as a low-carbohydrate vegan snack.

Baba Ghannouj

Baba Ghannouj is a Middle Eastern dip made from roasted eggplant, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil and fresh garlic. Grill or roast the eggplant with the skin on until it is soft, then remove the skin and place the eggplant flesh in a food processor. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Add 2 to 3 tbsp. soy yogurt to the ingredients for a creamier consistency. Enjoy warm baba ghannouj with cut fresh vegetables as a low-carb vegan snack.

I don't know if you like spicy, but I LOVE wasabi peas!!  Kashi bars are good if you want a sweet snack and they have some protein, but lots of carbs.
