Feds sue company for firing 600-pound worker
Interesting.
My take on this as a fed with Reasonable accomodations that are not weight related....
IF you cannot do the essential job functions then you should not have the job.
BUT if with RA you can do the job and not cause a hardship then fine.
also the tasks have to be ESSENTIAL to the job not the "other duties as assigned" types of tasks.
of course we have HIS side and THEIR side... and then there is the truth.
I watch contractors walk up the hill to my office daily.. it's a schlep and a half and some struggle with it due to weight or mobility issues... but it's NOT an impact on their job once they get here....
A person's mobility into their job should NOT be a determining factor in their hiring or firing.
