Going to Over eaters Anonymous meeting in the morning.
I think it's a good idea to at least go to a few and see if you think it will help. I think you need to try more than one time, though, to really get a feel for it. People will be really nice and accepting, at least they usually are at 12 step meetings. You don't have to say much if you don't want to, you can just listen. But when you're ready to talk they will listen to you.
Let us know how it goes.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Dear K
While I have never attended OA meetings, I have been to other 12 step meetings in support of a dear friend and see a number of coralations. I think it would definitely be worth a try. I think that we all need to find a way to identify and address our issues surrounding emotional eating and if this is the place where you can find the tools you need to address these issues, go for it!

I hear they have meetings online, which I have yet to check out.
I echo the value of good therapy, and find the 12 step philosophy compatible.
