Slider Foods??
Chips are not slider foods. Any food can be a slider food...its all about the consistency of the food...NOT the caloric value of the food.
Slider foods are foods that once chewed and swallowed have a very liquidity consistency and pass through the pouch very fast...sort of like liquids. They aren't thick enough so they "slide" through the bottom of the pouch. Sliders are not that much of a concern early out, but can be a problem later on because if you eat a lot of slider foods you won't feel full which could lead to snacking and such.
Some slider foods are thinner consistency yogurt, ice cream, pureed foods with too much liquid..etc. Pureed food should be like thick wet paste...not thin soupy paste if that makes sense.
ETA: this is why RNY patients are told not to eat and drink at the same time and to pratice the 30:30:30 rule....if you drink while eatting...you water down your food...making it easier to "slide" out of your pouch.
