my surgery is scheduled for tuesday and i would like to get a decent scale asap.

can someone recommend a good scale that is accurate but doesn't cost an arm and a leg... even though if it did, i guess i would less which is always a good thing

thanks in advance!!!

Really any of the mid-priced scales are good at Bed Bath and Beyond. Very accurate. Within a .5 lbs of my doctor's office's scales.

I love my "Eat Smart" scale.  I know others who do not.  but mine is very accurate.  I went to my doctor's appt yesterday and weigh the exact same thing there as at home when I returned.  I ordered my scale from Amazon.

I love my tech geek Withings wifi scale. While expensive, it communicates with my laptop, my iPad and my iPhone, keeping a graph of my weight along with showing my average weight and target weight. It also keeps track of fat mass, lean mass, and BMI.

why not substitute the scale for a tape measure?  It will help in thinking about your new life and body in new ways.  Too many people get hung up on the scale.  The numbers can speed up, slow down, fluctuate etc.  It might make your trips to the doctor for follow up a nice surprise as you only weigh there.

I agree with the PP about not getting a scale. I did not even own one until I was at goal. I've seen too many people on here stress themselves beyond belief by worrying about stalls, plateaus, small gains, etc. Do yourself a favor, and just worry about being healthy and enjoying your new life. You are worth more than a damn number!
