How much did you lose at the 3 month point?

I am 3 months out and still can't shake the feeling I'm not losing enough. I feel I will never get close to goal. I feel like the weight has never really "melted off" and now that I'm at 3 months I know its gonna slow down even more! Ive been losing about 10lbs a month. I'm scared of the unknomn. Maybe thats the problem. Either way...I would love to hear where everyone was at 3 months. I lost 24lbs on my pre op diet and I have lost 49lbs since surgery for a total weight loss of 73lbs. I just hope I can lose what I need to.

YOu are doing great, and you are losing fast.. at 3 months I was -74 lbs and I'm -107 at 6 months.. so you are right on track to be down 100 by 6 months.. I lose 10 lbs every month also.

Thank you berlyfly! I have been watching your weightloss on the forums and you are doing amazing! Did you lose all 74lbs after surgery? Or was some of it post op weight loss?

I lost 25 of my 107 during my 2 week pre op diet.  I've looked at a lot of peoples stats and after 3 months 10 lbs a month is pretty common.. some people might lose 15 one month and 7 the next.. but it usually averages to 10 a month and they get to goal doing that.. I'd love to lose 14 a month for the next 6 months so I can be at goal by 1 yr.. but I'd be happy with 10.. and it might take me a few more months to get to goal.. it's not a race but it sure would be nice to cross the finish line!!!  You are doing great so stop worrying!!

I had lost 48lbs at exactly 3 months out but I didn't have to do a pre op diet.  Usually when you do a pre op diet you have your large weight drop then instead of right after surgery.  How long was your pre op diet?
If I had started a pre op diet a week before the surgery I would have lost that first 16lbs then and I only would have lost about 34lbs in my first 3 months after surgery.

Because of my insurance...I had to do a 6 month diet program in order to be approved for surgery. So I started my diet in January and had my surgery in June. So I slowly lost 24lbs in 5 months. ( I wasnt super serious about the diet because I wanted to eat some of my favorite things before I had surgery.) I guess I just can't see how I can lose so much more in the next 9 months or so b/c I suppose to be losing the fastest now. Maybe its because I have been big my whole life. I really can't imagine myself being a "normal" weight.

That's normal, I lost about that much at 3 months.

I just recently went over 3 months, and Im at about 60 pounds weight loss so far. All of it after surgery.

You're doing great!!!  When have we ever lost this much in a 3 month time frame before?  Keep up the great work!

I think you are doing AWESOME! You've lost nearly HALF of your excess weight, that is certainly something to be proud of!
