I need some support!
For my girls. And when I say my girls I do NOT mean my daughters (I just lost the men in the room).
Ok, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and have a professional bra fitting. The sizes of bras utterly perplex me. When I buy my proper waist size (either 36 or 38, depending on who is making it) the cup size (DD) is too small. When I get a bigger waist size, the cup size fits perfectly but my boobs try to escape out of the gaping waist. When I try to go up a cup size with my proper waist size I get "vacant bra syndrome." My girls are down there somewhere...but there is also a LOT of air in the cup.
Sigh...will I ever get the level of support I need???
I just needed to commiserate.
Love,
Sagging in the City...
P.S. For anyone who was on here this weekend and saw my boobylicious pic I posted, to achieve that, with my current...um...challenges...I actually wear a sports bra over my bra. But I shouldn't have to do that!!!

I hate bras and it is very hard to find them in my size, 34DD. Walmart doesn't carry them and I haven't set foot in another place in years. I have tried buying them online but the sizes are inconsistent. I would just have to scour the thrift stores and hope a decent one in my size was hanging there.
I finally bit the bullet and ordered some Genie bras. I read some reviews and most said that they wished they had gone smaller because when they got the recommended size they didn't have enough support so I got the smallest size and I love them. They give the girls plenty of support and believe me, I need it. I don't wear anything else. I can actually forget I have it on. I am one that rips off her bra the first thing when I get home and with these I actually wear it around the house.
I also like the fact that I don't have to hid it. I wear them with a lot of low cut tops and tank tops and it just looks like I am layering. I don't have to worry about my strap showing or falling down.
My biggest issue was that I hated to pay so much for that many bras without knowing if I would like it. They say you can return them but you lose the shipping cost, which was almost as much as the bras. I wish they would just sell them individually in the stores. At least I have 6 now so they should last a while.

Tazz...I'm so glad to read this! I caved in the other night and ordered the Genie Bras. Like you I usually rip that thing off as soon as I get in the house so to hear you actually wear it gives me hope. I didn't read anything about the sizing in my research so I hope mine fit, I ordered according to my normal shirt size because I didn't want that smashed pancake look I get with tight sports bras. So...we'll see. But thanks for your review!
Nik....One of the best things I did at about 8-9 months out was get a pro fitting. I couldn't believe the size they had me in, something I never would have even tried. I can't afford more of the $50-75 bras from that establishment but they were the best fiting things I had ever worn until I lost the rest of my weight. I say go for it....you deserve it! If nothing else you'll have a good idea of the band/cup size you really need.
