Ok, so mowing the lawn (and small hill) wasn't very smart 2.5 weeks post-op

I really needed to mow the lawn and the weather was beautiful and I was feeling pretty good... and I had already had to impose on someone else to do it right after I had surgery... and I thought that it would be ok for me to mow it (even though I only had my open exploratory surgery 2.5 weeks ago) since it is a fairly small yard and my mower is self-propelled with adjustable speed.  I do have a small but somewhat steep hill in the backyard, however, because most of the backyard is about 3 feet lower than the level the house sits at.

NOT a good decision.  My abdominal muscle now hurts along the incision and on one side under my ribcage.  It seems like I do this almost every time I have surgery.... overestimate what I am able to do and then "pay for it" in pain for the next day or two.  I have had enough surgeries that you would think I would learn... but nooooooo.

Guess I'll spend tomorrow doing nothing bu****ching football (and the old NCIS epsiodes I recorded today) in my jammies...

Yes that is too much. Hope the "pushing it" doesn't cause you any major setback.

Oh my gosh!  I hope you're alright.

Enjoy your day of leisure.. you deserve it.

Oh, and hey... in another few weeks when you feel better, I have a lawn that could use some attention.

What kind of surgery did you have?  Yeah take it easy.  I had a stomach hernia repair and they said no pushing, pulling, bending, reaching overhead, and lifting for a good 8 weeks.  Take it easy and be sure and root for them Niners today.  hahahah

I had an open exploratory laparotomy (incision from breastbone to belly button) to find the cause of the intermittent (and increasingly frequent) severe abdominal pain I had been having for the past 18 months (scar tissue causing intestine to be stuck to abdominal wall and to "grow" into the mesh put in when I had my hernia repair).

49ers, huh?  I'm a Broncos girl, but I hate their new (2 years ago) coach and QB, and don't really expect them to do much better this year than they did last year.   I'm also a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan, but with the loss of our coach and the 5-game player suspensions for trading memorbilia for tatoos (stupid NCAA rules!), it could be a long, depressing football season.
