really tired of being tired and dizzy

If you have dizzy spells often, it's likely bp related, as I'm pretty sure you stay on top of supplements, protein, hydration, etc.  My bp was not a constant issue. But I had at least 3 periods of brief "no memory" of some aspects of driving that really made me worry. I ran into a curb on a really wide street while making a left turn. Twice I remember making a turn onto a local street (about 400 feet long), then no immediate memory until I got to the end of the street.  My heart rate seemed normal too, as it as checked many many times during the months of tests I went through.  The Holter or Event Monitor tests are designed to capture physical events that are not constant. Kind of like taking your new car to the dealer for a "rattle" and the dealer is unable to detect the issue until you take it back for the 10th time.  I really didn't like the idea of a pacemaker either. I even wrote to an OH forum with my concerns.  But I hated the negative possiblities that may have resulted from NOT having the pacemaker.  I get it checked twice each year, and my cardio doc said my battery would last 5-6 years. Battery usage depends on how ofen the pacemaker "kicks in" and which options were turned on or off on the pacemaker.  I think the doc told me my pacemaker was working around 55% of the time. DAVE

I had/have the same issue. It is worse during that time of the month, so I was almost certain it was anemia. I had labs done last month, all completely normal. I do have low blood pressure. I caused a huge uproar when I went to have my daughter and my blood presser dropped to 80/31. They said I should have been almost comatose, yet I was talking to them.

I really have no idea what is wrong with me either since my labs are all normal (minus having a 3 month old obviously), so I don't have much info or help to give you, other than I'm right there with you. :-/

I have problems with dizzy spells, too, and I also have low blood pressure.  Last night I got real dizzy so I took my b/p and it wouldn't even register.  I tried 2 times on each arm and I kept getting an error message.  I don't have the book so I don't know what the message was about but I have a feeling it had to do with my pressure being low.  It averages about 90/55.  Everytime I go to the doctor they mention that but no one says to be concerned.
I understand about the fatigue, too.  Mine has gotten a lot better but I still have to fight it at times.  I have wondered if I had chronic fatigue syndrome, too.  I felt a lot better when I rode my bike but it's been raining here and I haven't been able to.  I bought a thing so I can bring the bike inside and ride it, I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.
I was told it had to do with my depression, too, but like you I didn't feel terribly depressed at the time.  Well, I didn't until the fatigue got so bad and then I was depressed because I was do tired.  They kept telling me I was tired because I was depressed.
All I can suggest is trying to get in some activity.  That is the thing that helped the most even though when we are feeling fatigued the last thing we want to do, or think we can do, is exercise.

Sometimes when my depression is bad I am also very tired.  But that feels like a different kind of tired to me.  I don't know how to explain it but maybe you know what I mean.  When I am depressed, sometimes I have no energy but I also have no interest in doing anything.  I might stay in bed all day and I might sleep part of the day but part of the day I'll just lie there and I won't be bored because I have no interest in anything.

This fatigue, though, is like when you have the flu or something and are exhausted and feel drained.  It's not like when I don't care about doing anything or have no interest in doing things.  I want to do things but I feel too tired.

I guess I'm going to start going for walks again.  I used to walk a lot but haven't much lately.

I know exactly what you mean.  I am not young and I have been dealing with depression for most, if not all of my life and I have never felt that way before.  I kept telling my doctor that I was sure it was physical but when they couldn't find an exact cause they insisted it was emotional.
I compared it to a time when I got really sick, about a year after my first WLS.  I developed intestinal bacterial overgrowth and the toxins caused an auto immune reaction that caused me to have very painful joints, reactive arthritis, and a rash.  It was pure luck that it was even diagnosed because the doctor she sent me to had seen one other case in his career on a person that had WLS and had the same symptoms.  I was so sick I couldn't leave my bed for a month.  But I did eventually recover, thankfully, but I tried to tell them that the fatigue was exactly like it was then.
I am thinking that I had chronic bacterial overgrowth because the only thing that would help was a course of Flagyl but after a while my doctor wouldn't prescribe it any more because they were worried I would become resistent.  I think the constant presense of bacteria and toxins caused me to be so sick.  I would also always have a very high white blood cell count when I had my labs done but they didn't do anything about it.  On all my labs since my revision my white cell count has been normal.  Also I haven't had the diarrhea and gas problems since my revision so I think that between getting my labs straightened out and getting rid of the intestinal bacteria that is what helped me recover.  An iron infusion and getting my D levels up probably didn't hurt, either.

It seems like once they do some labs and don't find anything wrong, they don't take it very seriously if your only complaint is that you're tired.  I've been complaining off and on about fatigue for years now so I've seen a couple different docs for it.  One of them even tested me for Lyme disease but they all end up saying oh, it might be due to the depression, but you're fine, nothing's wrong.  I was reading some info on chronic fatigue syndrome recently and apparently muscle aches and joint pain are also symptoms of CFS.  I periodically feel achy all over, like when you're starting to get the flu or something, and I feel tired and weak but then in a few days it goes away.  It very rarely turns out that I actually get sick, I just feel like I'm starting to.  I'm kinda worried that if I go back to my doctor and say I think I have CFS, though, she'll start to think I'm just a hypochondriac.

just went to the ER because of the issue.  All my labs were fine, blood pressure was fine too. I had one episode of low blood pressure 80/64 but no blackout/dizzy period.  They said I was dehydrated,r eceived a bag of fluids and was discharged.  Later that evening and the next day I had the same symptoms.  I then started looking at other symptoms pertaining to my sinuses.  A few days before my trip to the ER I had a horrible sinus headache.  I started taking benedryl daily and have noticed the symptoms are gone.  I am wondering if your situation could be the same, sinus related.
Good Luck to you!

I am sure it is not sinus related.  I have no headache or stuffiness or anything like that.  Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Kelly I too had a couple of days like this.  It was hard to get going and I felt so tired.  I increased my iron and vitamin C...It took a couple days but I feel fine now.  Your iron can go down in a few months if you don't get enough in your diet.  I'm taking vita lady iron...just not that often because I eat meat and my iron was OK a few months ago also.  I was OK after 2 days and then I thought wow maybe I had a silent MI thats why I was so tired.  It was hard to walk up my hill from the mail boxes.  But so far I'm OK  just for a few days I had it and I'm OK now!   Good Luck patty

 Kelly,

Fatigue has been my number one complaint. I'm not saying it's the surgery because I too was tired before the surgery, but it really is debilatating. I mean, I am able to do things, I just don't feel like it. It all seems overwelming because I am so tired. I deal with this daily. My Bp is normal. My labs are "normal" I have talked to my surgeon. He don't know whats wrong with me either.

I have posted about this very subject. I have tried increased proteins and increased fluids. I take my vitamins. I too have began to wonder if I have CFS.

Wish I could say something more helpful, but I can say that I know how you feel.
