really tired of being tired and dizzy

I'm just tired of feeling like this.  I am not tired all the time but it seems I am a lot more tired than I should be.  I've had about a zillion labs done and have no vitamin deficiencies (well, no iron deficiency, no B12 or vitamin D deficiencies, and a bunch of other stuff that was all good a couple months ago), no thyroid problems, etc.  I've dealt with this fatigue on and off for years and years, since long before my RNY.  Maybe it's related to my depression, but I don't always feel depressed when I'm tired.  It feels like it's something physically wrong, last time I had labs done I felt sure I was going to be iron deficient, but all the labs were good.

I am also getting dizzy almost every time I stand up.  It goes away after maybe 30 seconds but I am tired of dealing with that, too.  I am drinking plenty of fluids, and again all labs are good.  I think my blood pressure is dropping and I have tried adding a bit more salt to my diet (I don't really like my food that salty) but that has not helped.

Other than this, I feel good, and I have days when I am not tired and have lots of energy.  I have been wondering if I have chronic fatigue sydrome or something, seriously.

Typically around 90/60 but when I've checked it as soon as I stand up, it has been as low as 80/40.

I was in an accident a few years ago; in the emergency room the doctor wouldn't give me any pain killers because my BP was the same as yours & he told me that it would be too dangerous--could even kill me--until my blood pressure had risen.  From that experience I'd say that your BP is too low.

A couple of questions / comments

Chronic tiredness can also be due to sleep apnea.  How's your arterial blood gases for O2 saturation?

Tiredness and dizziness can also be due to low blood pressure - how do you feel when you exercise (whi*****reases blood pressure)?  When I was thin I always had this problem, but when I exercised I felt great.

I have no idea how my blood gases are.  I don't think I have sleep apnea, though.  I had a sleep study done once but that was years ago.  There was no sleep apnea then, though.  And I don't think I snore.

How do I feel when I exercise?/  Well, I have done very little exercise lately.  So I don't even know.  That's awful, isn't it?  Maybe I should try exercising some and see if that helps.

Your blood pressure sounds pretty low to me, maybe you should see your doctor about this.

I expereinced many dizzy spells, starting around 8 month post op. I also had momentary "black out" periods a few times while driving locally. This scared me. I also passed out at home for around 1 minute. I aggressively began speaking and testing with my PCP.  Went back of bp meds, changed bp meds, had 2 Holter Monitor Tests, 1 Event Monitor test, etc.  I had pulse readings of 38 and 45 at my PCP's office--I've always tended to have a low pulse rate my entire life. Finally, I ended up with a referral to a cardiologist. One more Holter Monitor test.  I needed a pacemaker implant to control my low bp issues.  It appears that my low bp rate would "dip" at times when coming back down from short higher bp episodes.  The implant was almost 4 years ago now. No more dizzy issues.  You might consider testing for the possiblity of a pacemaker implant.  DAVE

I was thinking about you and the pacemaker.  My heart rate always seems normal.  Just my BP is low.

I really don't like the idea of needing a pacemaker.

Do you think I should ask my PCP to order a Holter monitor test?
