Unexpected NSVs
Today I went in to visit the trainer at the gym for my measurements. I weighed on the Tanika (sp) scale so I had to take off my shoes and socks. The trainer told me to go ahead and put them back on while she wrote down my info.
I sat down in the chair without even noticing it had arms on it! I bent over and tied my left shoe and then, as I was talking to the trainer I tied my right shoe. I almost fell out when I realized that my right foot was propped on my left knee!!!!
I told the trainer she was going to have to give me a minute... I was almost teary eyed realizing how long it has been since I have been able to do that

Wow, already doing weights and cardio? The most I've done is do some walking every day because I've not been cleared for any weights and such which I'll be glad when I feel well enough to do them.
Good for you!!

VBG Surgery 4/17/1989 - Revision TO RNY 8/22/2011 - 4 Days Prior To Surgery WT: 309.5

Yeah I was walking a mile on my one week date. At 10 days I was cleared to do light workouts at the gym and Dr. Friedman said I could increase it very gradually as long as I used good judgement. I found out what he meant... even though I have had no pain or complications, I wasn't getting enough protein to support healing, returning to work, and the gym. I talked to the NUT this past Tuesday and she told me to increase my protein and fluids.... I started Tuesday night and have lost almost 5lbs since then. Before I was averaging about 3lbs a week.
