Carb swaps!

Ok, before I leave for the weekend (and I hope by the end of this weekend I will have a computer...swing chickens peeps), I thought I would post some good carb swaps from Bariatric Foodie. I know there are certain dishes we can't imagine without those starchy carbs so...

Those who miss rice, consider some cauliflower rice.

For those who miss pasta, consider some spaghetti squash.

For those who miss their Lil' Debbie, consider protein cakes and cupcakes.

Those are just a few carb swaps you can do with stuff you probably already have in your kitchen. The possibilities are really endless. So play with your food!

What about a swap for chips (potato and/or tortilla)? And crackers?

I have been thinking about dehydrating some cucumbers or some other root vegetable to try and get a similar crispy effect to chips. I've tried sweet potato chips from TJs, but they are kinda high in fat and calories, and I worry about the carbs in them.

For crackers, I have been considering making some out of flax seed, but not sure how well we digest flax.
