Does It Get Better?

I had my RNY on Feb 1, 2011, so I am quite a ways out.  Protein still gives me such an upset stomach that I shy away from it.  I tried going back to the protein soups, but as soon as that hits my tummy same thing.  Is this just a phase?  I know I really need protein, but the nausea and pain it causes does not make it worth it.

It may be the kind of protein, or the additives that are causing you distress. This many months out, it shouldn't be a problem. Have you tried other kinds of protein besides whey? Such as soy, hemp, egg, etc?? Or maybe you are sensitive to the artificial sweeteners, so maybe try ones without that either.

Bonne Chance!

All protein gives you an upset stomach?  Meat does?  Milk?  Eggs?  Cottage cheese?  Greek yogurt?  Beans?  Tofu?  Protein shakes?

Maybe it's the milk? Try the pure protein bars if you haven't yet. Smores is pretty good.

I read every Protein post on here.  Seems everyone has the same problems.  I had an EAS vanilla with ice and a half of banana today...WOW!  It went down so much easier.  I know they tell us not to use a straw, but it does help.  Your tongue doesn't get it all and that makes it easier too ( I read that here, I think Kelly mentioned that tid bit, thank you for that) So I will try adding fruit to them from now on and instant Decaf coffee.  It just takes finding what works.....Good luck!
