Sorry that I only posted this on the main board the other day... it never occurred to me (under the influence of dilaudid) to cross-post.

The surgeon found that there was a whole mess of adhesions and some of them had bound the intestine to the mesh that was put in when I had my hernia repair and to the abdominal wall (and under certain conditions (probably somehow related to high density foods) the intestine was pulling against the adhesions causing pain (and potemntially causing enough small movement that it just continued to irritate the scar tissue causing it to increase...).

I was also told that if it had continued untreated that eventually (although maybe way down the road) it may have caused a bowel obstruction.

Four weeks before I can go back to work... The incision goes from my breast-bone to my navel.

Wow Lora. So glad they found the problem and were able to correct it. So what did they do, cut out the adhesions? I don't know how they fix things like that. Hope so much you don't get any more and after you heal, you'll be pain free.

Thanks for reposting. I NEVER go on the main board.

HUGS!
