x post Surgery date is set!
Just got the call today, so exited my surgery is scheduled for November 21,2011. Now i just told them at my new job, and hope they dont fire me for needed so much time off , im only taking a week(7 days).
God grant me with the serenity to accept the things i cannot change ; Courage to change the things that i can ; and the wisdom to know the difference!!!
i started in may, but its a job through a temp agency, so its really not completely secure. However i really need this job at least untill surgery. I hope me telling them in advance was not the wrong thing to do,...

Congrats, and I don't think you did the wrong thing to tell them. I bet they appreciate the notice. Also you're going to have some appointments coming up you'll need off for, so it would have been hard to hide it.
It will pass quickly. When I found out in June my surgery was Aug. 29 it seemed like it would never get here, but hey, Aug. 29 is Monday!
