2. Surgery date Feb 3, 2009

3. Current food obsession (or, the food that you currently tolerate the best)  I'm loving summer, going to the farmers market and buying fresh veggies and fruit. They never seemed to taste so good.

4. Best NSV (non-scale victory) either so far or that you are looking forward to
Being able to tie my sneakers without suffocating myself, wearing high heeled shoes. This surgery has done more for me then just losing weight. I'm more outgoing and don't want to hide like I used to. There is a group of people I have met since surgery. Most of the group is post op, but significant others and children come to our lunches or outings we do. We meet once a month. My support system certainly has increased because of this. It is nice to be around others who know what you are going through.

4. So many NSVs -- I have become a clothes shopping fool! Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would ever fit in a size 10/Medium -- and have so many choices. I haven't been this size since junior high. I'm burning a hole in my wallet...(uh oh, maybe that's an excuse to buy a new one).

Cheers!

Great thread, Nik!

My name is Melissa.
I had my RNY on 9-27-10.  Coming up on a year....
My current food obsession is my current "salad": grape tomatoes, English cucumbers, red peppers, reduced fat feta, sliced turkey, and fat free italian dressing.  I eat that for lunch, dinner, or a snack at least 4 days a week!
I have had too many NSV's to count, and I find something every single day that makes me realize how much my life has changed.  Overall, being able to keep up with my very busy 5 year old twins without being hot, tired, and uncomfortable all the time is what makes me smile.  Oh...and the other day at Starbucks a woman called me tiny!  LOL!

3. I don't have a food "obsession", but... my favorite food is the same as it was pre-op: Strawberry Haagen Dazs ice cream (you know, the full-fat, full-sugar kind)... and lately I have been eating a lot (too much, probably) of watermelon and cantaloupe (before the season ends!)... and I cannot be trusted with cookies of any kind in the house because I will eat them (ALL of them)
4. not being recognized by people who did not see me while I was dropping the weight
