I have been snacking a lot, too.  I am really glad you posted this.  Maybe we should have a "chat" session this weekend to support each other?

Im a March-er too, the 23rd and I am experiencing the same thing. Carbs are just so easy to eat and easy on the pouch!
Im happy with my weight loss, I've lost 102lbs, in a size 20....but it's coming up on the 6 month mark and it's time to get back on track!

LIke others have said, it's not going to hurt you but I don't think you need to do that.  If you can elimate all food in favor of a shake you should be able to elimate carbs infavor of protein.  Just stick to protein and fluid for awhile.. that's what I do when I feel like I'm snacking too much I just start fresh the next day with our original diet and try not to have any carbs and keep the chips/cookies ect out of your house it makes it so much easier to NOT eat them!

Here are my three cents.

I can’t speak for you but for me that does NOT work. Depriving myself only makes me want those things more and increases the likelihood that I’ll go totally off the rails.

Kattie…sigh…I hope you take this in the spirit of love to which it is intended.

You’re sort of all over the place food-wise from what I can see. One moment you are posting about liquid diets and the next you’re posting about eating chocolate mousse. This is NOT a judgment on you at all. We’re all flipping crazy. But I think you really need to sit down and think about what YOUR challenges are to eating healthfully. How does your hubby feel about getting rid of trigger foods? Is he for it or against it? If he’s against it, how do you cope? Because a liquid diet is not a magic solution. You’re still going to like what you’re going to like and if trigger foods are always in your face they are always going to taunt you. You may not always give in, but you are going to notice them.

So rather than just doing a liquid diet, I would encourage you to think about a HOLISTIC PLAN. That might include

-          Deciding what can no longer be in the house and talking to hubby to get his support on that

-          Getting into a regular exercise plan if you aren’t already on one

-          Starting to food journal if you don’t already. It’s a tool many people overlook but that is so helpful in keeping you grounded in the reality of your eating

-          Going to a therapist if need be. Because the problem is not your pouch, it’s your head.

-          Assessing the relationships/situations/feelings that propel you to make less than stellar decisions

It sounds corny but that saying is true. It’s NOT what you’re eating. It’s what’s eating you. Especially after WLS when the hunger isn’t the main factor. You have the tools you need to do the right thing and CHEW the right thing. You gotta figure out what’s keeping you from doing that.

For what it’s worth I have a lot of confidence in you. You’re *****y and resilient. You’ll figure this out but it’s probably not going to be easy.
