Thanks...he got a little panicky yesterday before he left.  I know it's just the unknown and not sure of what is ahead of him.  He is a good kid and will come back a great young man.

My nephew became a Marine last summer.  It was hard for my sister to see him go.  But he is really happy and doing so well.  They'll take very good care of Chris.  They'll challenge him, yeah, but they'll also take care of him.

I told him to remember 3 things... #1 they can't physically put their hands on him..it's just screaming and he should be used to that LOL... #2 they can't eat him, it's against the law... #3 they WILL take care of him, best babysitters in the nations!

Hey Tonya,  Not the same Air Force................ They barely scream at them now. New Day. New Rules. Even before my husband retired in 08 from the Army, the rules for Basic Training had changed. To tell the truth, I wish they were training/preparing these  young people the old way. I guess by my husband being in the military it was easier to let my sons go in the Air Force when they left. And the hardest part for me was the recruiter coming to the house to get my baby boy. But! They will take care of him. AND...................... He will always be your baby!  You will hear from him soon! God Bless You & Your Family.................................

 IN IT TO WIN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter went to Lackland for her basic training in '88; I told her just to say "Sir, yes, Sir" to everything and it seemed
to work out fine.

She came through it fine, and I'm sure your son will too.

The trainers have to make sure everyone comes through in one
piece!!

LOL...I told Chris that too.  His problem will be his sense of humor.  I just hope he doesn't laugh at anything while he is there....or roll his eyes!!!

That's what I am afraid of.  LOL...I told him to show some form of restraint for just a few weeks.  From all the "yes ma'ams" that I got on that last phone call, I don't think that will be a problem at all.
