RE: OT: Haircut, why am I so chicken...(I did it)
Well, I was chicken...but I did it... I cut my hair shorter..may go back and get shorter layers in the back, I dont know yet. I also dyed it SUPER dark..a color called "Black Cherry" ...wasn't aware that with the bleached highlights and my natural red tones that I would end up with a reddish purple tint to my dark hair but hey, I can pull off gothic cute now apparently ^_^

I think it looks VERY cute! You have such a nicely shaped face that I think almost anything would look good on you!
I just had my hair highlighted last week -- since highlighting adds a little bit of body, and after a second 8-month bout of hair loss last year (before the hair I lost after my RNY had gotten more than a couple of inches long) I definitely need some extra body -- and my stylist said that to make it look fuller we would have to take another 2 inches off just to get it all to the level that the 4-year post-op regrowth is at! It just barely touches my shoulders right now, and I do NOT have a face that looks good with short hair... my features are too masculine... so I need the softness of longer hair. So I guess I will just continue to do the best I can until the first round of regrowth gets 2 inches longer... and, hopefully, once the second round of regrowth gets long again, I will be back to my "normal" head of hair... but I never expected that it would take six years to get my pre-op hair back! (No, we still don't knowthe cause of the hair loss last year.)
Congrats on finding the courage that I don't have!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Lora, I just had to pipe in here and say I do NOT think you have masculine features! I think we really do see ourselves differently than other people do. I think my nose is HUGE, but people tell me that is not true.

Thanks, Michelle. Perhaps I see more masculine features because I see how very much I look like my Dad (more and more as I age). Even my mom commented on how much more my face looks like his since I have lost weight, especially when I am tired.
