Is this gas?
I was wondering - I am 6 days post op and i don't understand what is going on with my body. I know that I should be passing gas by now. I think I have only truly farted maybe two times (sorry I know TMI). I have burped a few times but that is about it. Whenever i move a certain way or get up from a chair I feel this incredible pressure, it reminds me of a big bag of water sloshing from side to side. It's like when I am in bed and try to turn on my side, it feels like I turn my body and then the big bag of water catches up. If I lean on the side where the drain was, it is extrmemly painful and I have had to get my husband to help me to an upright position. So i'm just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I hope I decribed it enough for you all to get a visual. Let me know if you have expereince this before and what you did to make it feel better.

If it's gas it will dissipate as you walk more and more - I trust you are up and about regularly - at least block walking??? You need a combination of rest AND exercise ...
You can drive as soon as you are off your narcotics - I stopped mine after 24 hours so was free to drive the day after I went home. I have heard everything from this to 6 weeks!

If you had it lap the feeling you are having is gas. They inject it into you to have an open field to work in. The gas has to work it's way up and out and goes under your diaphram. It's very painful and walking is the only thing that gets it moving. Make sure you're moving around a lot, walking is the best exercise and wait it out. It will get better.
