What could go wrong with the gall bladder? What are the symptoms for this? I still have pain right below my ribcage and someone mentioned that it might be a problem with my gall bladder. I really hope not because I don't want to have another surgery to remove it. I am going to call the doctor today.

WHen I had gallbladder pain it felt like someone had stuck a poker in my right side and it felt like it was on fire all the time.  I would hurt when I ate certain foods.   Some people have shoulder pain also.

Is your pain on the right side and what kind of pain is it???

That doesn't really sound like me. I guess I don't actually know where the gall bladder is located. My pain feels like the bottom of my ribcage is bruised. On the left side moreso than the right. It's right where the ribs end.

I had my gallbladder removed last July.  I had terrible pain underneath my right shoulderblade and straight through to the underneath of my rib cage (right side only).  Fatty foods cause you to have a flare up.  I hope you get some answers soon.  I know how painful this can be.  I had mine out laproscopically and it was a great experience.....I know that sounds weird, but I was only back to my room for 15 minutes and asked to go home.  Out the door I went and never looked back.  I immediately felt better and had no pain from it.  Good luck to you!

Gall stones.  Did you take Actigall after surgery?  Actually, you'd still be on it I think, you're not that far out.

Usually causes pain in the upper right side of your abdomen but I don't think it's constant pain, at least not usually.  Might also cause nausea.  When I had gall stones, the only symptom I had was nausea and my idiot doc kept telling me it couldn't be my gall bladder since I was just nauseous, no pain.  I finally insisted on an ultrasound and sure enough, it was full of stones.

GB pain can radiate. Anywhere. Left or right.  Right is much more common, but only test can tell if there is something going on.

The doc can run test to determine that. In a lot of cases - eating food higher in fat - may cause more pain 15 min to 1 hr after the meal. But not always.
Sometimes GB is enlarged and inflamed and will hurt all the time - low stubbing or burning pain. Sometimes - the pain comes and goes.
A lot of people report nausea when GB is not working properly.

My symptoms were pain in the middle of chest, between breasts, also pain in right side near ribs....

Turned out I had gallstones, so had surgery to remove the gallbladder last year.   It was a very easy surgery, and I was up and driving the next day!  I'm glad my gallbladder is gone!

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

My gall bladder is "angry".  Surgeon recommends it coming out.  Family Physician doesn't because its working appropriately with no stones.

Anyway.. my symptoms were in the lower right rib cage area.  It was a throbbing pain (pulsing) about a 6 out of 10 on the pain scale.  It happened about an hour after I ate and lasted about 15-30 minutes.

I've heard some folks say shooting pains from front to back, back pains, vomiting etc..  I didn't have that.  It was more like a tooth ache type of throb under my lower right ribs.

I had no symptoms until one evening I had horrible abdominal pain on the right side that ran all the way from the front to the back....it was so bad I couldn't even stand up straight.

The pain was so intense I thought I had ruptured something in my pouch.  I had no idea what was going on.  I couldn't walk to get to my car so I finally got a hold of a friend to take me to the ER and they did and ultrasound of my gallbladder and saw it was inflamed and full of gallstones.  They spoke with my RNY surgeon and luckily the very next day he was able to remove it for me.  Honestly it was the worst pain I have ever had in my life, but since it has been gone I haven't had any issues since.

it is possible that the pain is from your pancreas rather than your gallbladder (they can check your pancreatic enzymes with just a simple blood test).  I had almost no pain from my gallbladder until a stone got stuck in the duct and caused pancreatitis (which is extremely painful and requires several days of hospitalization for fluids and NOTHING (even pills) by mouth until it calms down).  If the duct is only partially blocked, it can cause pancreatic inflmmation with a lower level of pain, and tha pain from the pancreas tends to be more in the center than gallbladder pain.
