Pot Smoking after Surgery

I am going to be undergoing Gastric Bypass surgery on March 4th. In my past I was a serious pot smoker. I smoked every day. To anyone who says pot is addictive, I have to say I strongly disagree. After I stopped smoking pot, I eventually started using Roxicet, or "Blues". Those are addictive. Basically legal synthetic heroin. I have 2 years clean from all substances but after surgery I am concerned about the painkillers. I would like to smoke pot instead of going back on Narcotics, but because of my situation, I can't see that happening. I live in a halfway house and work at a Outpatient center for Trauma and Addiction treatment. Also my state doesn't have legal pot for medical use. I also suffer from severe depression and anxiety and Pot really helped with those. I don't know what I am going to do but I wanted to share that as someone who has faced serious addiction, Marijuana is not addictive. The word addictive gets thrown around a lot and is used in the wrong way many times. Pot can be "habit-forming" but habit is not addiction. There is a very clear difference between marijuana and addictive substances.
