For those of us who've been at this for a while (and many who haven't) we know that sometimes one little ingredient can stand between a protein shake we hate and one we love. One little magic ingredient that makes the intolerable tolerable.

Today on Bariatric Foodie, I list my favorite "one ingredient fixes" that add that extra something to your chocolate protein without adding a bunch of calories, fat and carbs.

My vanilla-heads, don't fret! Tomorrow we're going over fixes for vanilla protein!

I gotta try that flavor. I put myself on syrup restriction. I currently have 30 bottles (I didn't buy them, most were given to me). In order to order more, I have to run out of a syrup. My peppermint paddy is almost gone but is worth replacing with the salted caramel, Reggie??? I trust your opinion.

Yes, its worth it.  I have a bunch of flavors on my counter too but that's the one thats going the fastest right now.  I have some sf peppermint, I'll have to try your peppermint paddy.  I tend to use that one around the holidays, well , since it reminds me of the holidays!  lollicup.com is the cheapest I've found at about $4.50 to $4.99 per bottle. Check it out.

Call me crazy, but when I read your blog, all I could think of was Lavender Extract. I used to love this candy bar that was infused with lavender and I'm thinking it would just be divine! Or Rose Hips! I'm one of those edible flower, peppery salad kind of people, so that just sounds yummy!

I took one of your recipes a couple of years ago and altered it a bit and boy is it delicious

8 ounces of lactaid skim milk
2 tablespoons SF torani chocolate syrup
5-6 ice cubes
1 1/2 scoops of chocolate protein powder (GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein)
2 heaping tablespoons SF Chocolate Pudding Powder
1 sliced banana

Put it in the blender for about 45 seconds until smooth.  45 grams of protein and tastes like a delicious chocolate milkshake.
