I got my date and I only have one week to plan. I am in panick mode!!!
I am having second thoughts. What if I have the surgery and don't wake up? My mind is going a million miles per minute. I am excited and scared ****less all at the same time.
Wow, that is fast, but just think most people have to wait months! I will also be having my surgery the same day as you. I just keep telling myself to stop for 10 seconds and breath. My friend had this surgery 10 years ago and is doing great, looks great also. Give yourself a chance to do something for you. You need to take care of you so that you can be there for your children. By the way, I will be working the day before surgery, so I know what kind of chaos you are experiencing. I stil have to get the rest of my protein shakes and remainder of the vitamins I will need postoperatively.
Good luck, and best wishes,
Did you have your pre op visit and testing yet?
What if a plane lands on your head? Or, what if you give birth to puppies?
Neither of these two things is likely to happen, kinda like you not waking up...
You're going to be fine, so quit worrying and get moving girlfriend. You only have a week to prepare!!! LoL
Can't wait to see ya on the other side!!!! Whewww, whewww!!!!
You could actually ask for a later date if you need to. But that would just give you more time to worry, you know.
What if you have surgery and don't wake up? Well, I won't promise you that you will wake up because there is a very tiny little chance you won't. I bet there is a greater chance that, if you remain obese, one day you won't wake up. The reason you had to do all kinds of pre op testing was to make sure that there was no reason to expect surgery to be unsafe for you. If there was any reason to think you might not wake up, your doctor would have told you he could not operate on you.
The fear is real and it's normal. But try to focus on the excitement. Think of all the good things that are going to happen for you after surgery.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
